Posted on August 29, 2021August 29, 2021 by camecamp

While in Los Angeles in summer 2021, we also visited the Huntington Library and wandered around on the grounds. As usual, it was lovely. Here are the resulting photos, along with photos from earlier visits in years past.

Griffith Park, Los Angeles

Posted on August 29, 2021August 29, 2021 by camecamp

While we were in Los Angeles in summer 2021, we visited Griffith Park. We took the shuttle to the Observatory and then walked up to Mount Hollywood. We were there around sunset, so had some nice pictures looking to the west as the sun was setting. The gallery also includes some pictures from earlier visits…

Silhouettes and Shadows

Posted on May 9, 2021May 9, 2021 by camecamp

I have created some galleries devoted to specific subjects. Recently one of my favorites has been silhouettes. Several years ago I became interested in taking pictures of silhouetted figures on train platforms, in the street, and elsewhere. More recently I have been focused on silhouetted or backlit plants and flowers. The original gallery with a…

Posted on May 9, 2021May 9, 2021 by camecamp

I recently reorganized my photos of Victoria Harbour, the Avenue of Stars, and the Star Ferry Terminal to put them into separate galleries. A few weeks ago we were up on Fei Ngo Shan road, once before sunset and once after sunset. The day we were there before sunset it was hazy, but I ended up with some photos I liked. When we went up after sunset, I brought a tripod and we took pictures of Kowloon at…

Bamboo Forest Tunnel at Pak Kong 北港竹林隧道

Posted on January 31, 2021January 31, 2021 by camecamp

On a trail heading up from above Pak Kung to the Mau Ping rest area, there is a tunnel through a bamboo forest. It’s quite lovely, especially in good light. I like trying to take pictures of the sun through the trees.

Ho Chung to Sai Kung hike 蠔涌到西貢行山

Posted on January 31, 2021January 31, 2021 by camecamp

As long as the weather remains cool, one of our favorite hikes is from either HKUST North Gate or Tseng Lan Shue to Sai Kong, via Ho Chung itself, or Ta Lam Wu 大藍胡 in the Ho Chung Valley. If we go from the HKUST North Gate then follow the coast to Nam Wai and…

Tseng Lan Shue to Ho Chung 蠔涌到井欄樹

Posted on November 14, 2020January 31, 2021 by camecamp

One of our favorite hikes is to go from HKUST South Gate to Tseng Lan Shue and then on to Ho Chung. If we want a mild hike, we just walk out to the road near Ho Chung and get on a bus to head home, or go to Nam Wai and then follow the…
