With the opening of the East Coast Boardwalk, it is now possible to walk all the way from Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter to Kennedy Town along the waterfront. We walked it for the first time in April 2026. If I recall correctly, we only crossed one or perhaps two roads the entire time. We came out of exit D2 of the Shau Kei Wan MTR, walked to the Tam Kung Temple, and then began following the waterfront. Sections included the Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter, the Quarry Bay Promenade, the East Coast Boardwalk, the East Coast Park Precinct, thew Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, Wan Chai Promenade, the Expo Promenade, the Central and Western District Promenade, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, and Sai Ying Pun Waterfront Park. We ended after the Western Wholesale Food Market, but it would have been easy to continue to the Belcher Bay Promenade. Including the walk from Shau Kei Wan MTR, it was about 15km. We did it in about 3 hours and 45 minutes, but that included a lot of stops for pictures.
In additions to the highlights below, I have galleries for specific sections:
